Formula 1 Romance Novels

Just like every other Sunday the fight is close and exciting, but which f1 romance will be pole in your hearts?

International Bestselling author

Lauren Asher, an author from the United States, has published a series of four books with the topic of Formula 1. The series is called "Dirty Air", which actually is the name of the slipstream in corners and tight sections of track. Throttled, the first book is about Noah, a formula one driver and Maya, his new teammates sister. Sophie, a team principal's daughter and Liam, a driver for a rival team make up the story of book two, called Collided. A romance between a driver, Jax and a social media specialist called Elena is the third book Wrecked. The fourth and final Redeemed is about Santiago and Chloe. Santiago is Maya's brother from book 1 who has since been in an accident and is fighting to get back into the sport.

Throttled ☆ 2/5
Collided ☆ 3/5
Wrecked ☆ 3/5
Redeemed ☆ 4,5/5

The whole series gets on average 3,1 stars from me. While it was nice to read, the inaccuracies concerning the racing details bothered me. Book four got a significantly higher rating because I loved the storyline which reminded me of Juan Manuel Correa's background with his crash in Belgium and comeback to Formula 2. His whole story is super inspiring and I've loved that the author incorporated this touching story.

Independent Publisher

The female formula 1 fandom is really active on TikTok and one of these members has written the Checkered Flag series which currently has two books, the first one being called Hammer Time, the second one Speed Trap. While Aeden is a formula 1 fan, I was slightly surprised that the books had quite a lot of mistakes and wrong terminologies which I hope is only due to the language barrier.

☆ 3/5

While I loved that the book is written by a fellow racing fan, I did not like that it had inconsistencies with the language, so I gave the book 3 out of 5 possible stars. No matter what I will definitely get the second book in the series though!

Fast and Oh la la

Kat Ransom has a total of 6 books currently published according to her Amazon profile and all of those are *chefs kiss*. The stories are divided into two series, the Donington Racing Series and the Fast Series with two and four books in them. While I absolutely adored the plot, I personally dont like books with half naked men on the cover as I usually read while I'm out and about and dont want people to judge me (small town girl here), so I rebound them or read them as an ebook.
The Fast Series was the one I read first, it includes Fast & Hard, Fast & Wet, Fast & Hot and Fast & Wild and includes strong female characters and sassy men, but also really well written spice.
The Donington Racing Series is a two part series, with Lights Out as the first and Wrecked as the second book. This series, especially book one has a lot of angst, but also spicy scenes and for me it was absolutely worth the suspense!

Fast & Hard ☆ 4/5
Fast & Wet ☆ 4,5/5
Fast & Hot ☆ 4/5
Fast & Wild ☆ 4/5

Lights Out ☆ 4/5
Wrecked ☆ 4/5

Absolutely loved and inhaled this series. I sure hope there will be more racing related books by Kat Ransom! And after rebinding them I could even read them in public ;) The series is a wonderful read and I highly recommend it, but being the weird person I am, I somehow cannot give 5 stars, I blame it on the cover, the story itself is definitely at least a 4,9!

Tropes for the win

The Full Velocity Series by Tracie Delaney consists of four books, with the fourth being published later this year. The first three books have honestly been such a fast read that I thought it might have been a dream that I actually finished them, but I apparently did. Drive to Glory is book one and is about Paisley and Jared with Paisley being the daughter of the team owner and rookie mechanic in the team and Jared the cold and collected driver, so book one is a forbidden romance. The second book in the series, Drive to Victory, is Enemies to Lovers with Madison who lost her brother in an illegal street race and Tate, a formula one driver she blames her brother's death on. Book three, Drive to Forgive, is featuring a tortured main male character, Devon, who is not a formula one driver, but rather a successful formula 1 engineer. Biographer Reilley is planning to write a biography about him, something he does not want in the beginning. Book four will be called Drive to Survive, a move I think is genius considering the Netflix documentary is having the same name.

Drive to Glory ☆ 3,5/5
Drive to Victory ☆ 4/5
Drive to Forgive ☆ 4/5

I really enjoyed this series, but again, half naked men on the cover... I cannot wait for book 4 though!

Latest read

The Revved Series by Samantha Towle is my latest formula 1 related read and I finished it embarrassingly quick. Book one is called Revved and is about Carrick, a successful formula 1 driver and Andi, an amazing mechanic who lost her racer father to a crash on track. In the second book, Revived, we meet India, who is a therapist and has helped Andi with her fears and Leandro, who has just recovered from a serious crash that happened in the literal last chapter of book one. India and Leandro have a forbidden romance, but it really well written and has a ton of cute scenes of Leandro with India's formula one obsessed and really cute son.

Revved  4/5

Rookie what now?

A Rookie Romance by M.B.Feeney is one of the lesser known racing romances and I really dont know why. I have read this book a while ago and as far as I remember it, it was maybe a bit unrealistic (but which f1 romance is realistic?), but still a very cute and easy read. Abi is running a fan account on Instagram for formula 1 rookie Mason and the both of them get talking.

A Rookie Romance ☆ 3,5/5

German only feeder series

Vielleicht irgendwann is a german book in a trilogy, the first two books however are not set in the racing world. I have to admit that I actually did not read the first two books, but the third one was lovely. It is set in Formula 2 and based around a German driver and a women working with the catering company which leads to them meeting.

Vielleicht irgendwann ☆ 4/5

What about you?
Do you know any more formula 1 themed romances I should absolutely read? If so, please leave me a comment because I need them! I have the days for publications marked in my calendar already and cannot wait!
Do you agree with my opinions or could I maybe even suggest a new series to you?
